Code of Conduct
Everyone involved in rugby in England, whether a player, coach, referee, administrator, parent or spectator is expected to uphold the core values of rugby:
- Teamwork
- Respect
- Enjoyment
- Discipline
- Sportsmanship
Safeguarding
Everyone shares the responsibility for safeguarding and creating a safe environment at CSRFC whether as a parent, coach, spectator or club official. Find more information about our safeguarding policies.
All of our coaches go through a DBS check prior to becoming a coach, which is renewed every three years. Part of this includes mandatory online training in ‘Headcase’ and ‘Introduction to Safeguarding’. They also must attend an in-depth safeguarding course called ‘Play it Safe’.
RugbySafe
RugbySafe, supported by SimplyHealth, is the RFU’s overarching player safety and wellbeing programme. It puts player welfare at the heart of the game and covers how to organise and manage the game so that it is played in a safe and enjoyable manner.
This includes HEADCASE – key information of how people can identify and manage suspected concussions, which all of our coaches have to do an online course, every three years. At least one coach per age group is first aid trained to comply with Regulation 9 player safety.
