Meet Sodbury’s New Men’s Rugby Captain: Ben Keeping

Chipping Sodbury is proud to have Ben as the new captain of the first team. He has been chosen for his leadership qualities, skill on the pitch and his ability to inspire the team both on and off the pitch. Having played from the age of 4 years old, he brings along a wealth of knowledge especially for his fellow forwards, with him consistently playing in the number seven shirt. 

A New Leader in the Making

Ben is no stranger to the demands of top-quality rugby. Having played for Chipping Sodbury for many years and now playing alongside his dad, they have become an integral part of the squad. Saying that his goal for the end of the season would be that, he hopes to see the team continuing to enjoy playing and to have improved from their first game of the season, he brings a wealth of experience and a calm demeanor to their new role. 

“I want to work alongside Steve to gain the best possible outcome for the team whilst ensuring players themselves are getting what they want out of training and playing for the club.”

Proven leadership qualities

Ben has consistently demonstrated leadership qualities throughout their career. As fines master, he is a trusted figure within the team, often known for motivating others and stepping up in crucial moments. His ability to remain composed under pressure and make key decisions during matches has earned him the respect of his teammates.

With Ben now at the helm, Sodbury fans can look forward to an exciting season ahead, as the new captain leads the charge for success.
